A world-renowned expert in mobile robotics, Dr. Ruiz del Solar is an academic and the Director of the Advanced Mining Technology Center (AMTC) at the University of Chile.

 

He is also a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), the main scientific robotics association in the world; the Associate Editor of the Journal of the Intelligent Robotic Systems; and the president of the following scientific organizations: IEEE Latin American Robotics Council, IEEE RAS Chile Chapter and the RoboCup Chile National Committee.

 

Dr. Ruiz del Solar has dedicated his career to the creation of autonomous robots for a wide variety of tasks as well as the development of human-robot interfaces.
